The Italian motorcycle brand announced a new partnership with Adishwar Auto Ride India - a subsidiary of Hyderabad based Mahavir Group last year. Benelli is now prepping for the launch of its two middleweight adventure tourers - TRK 502 and TRK 502X on February 18. The middleweight category, irrespective of the motorcycles' character i.e. cruisers, neo-retro classics, adventure tourers, naked roadsters and faired sports bikes in India is witnessing participation from a number of established brands and new entrants.
Benelli TRK 502 and TRK 502X will rival with Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Storm XT and SWM Dualsport T. The beefed-up front fairings, extended front suspension, lowered seat height and tall visor to protect the rider from wind blast showcases the adventure tourer character of the motorcycles.
Both the motorcycles are powered by the same twin-cylinder 499.6CC mill, mounted on a steel trellis frame. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and churns out 48PS of peak power at 8500RPM and 45NM of torque at 4,500RPM. Almost everything is the same on both the bikes, however, the 502X is the more hardcore version of the two. It gets an upswept exhaust and spoked wheels with 19" at the front and 17" at the back.
