Benelli has showcased some new motorcycles at the EICMA show and the most interesting product for the Indian market may be the new Imperiale 400. It will be a straight competition to the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in India and will make it to the Indian market by Q3 next year.
Talking about the engine and specification of Imperiale 400, it uses a 373.5cc single-cylinder, SOHC engine with fuel-injection that is capable of producing 19 bhp at 5500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike is Euro4 compliant.
Imperial 400 has been built on a double cradle steel tube frame and utilizes telescopic forks up front and double shock absorbers on the rear. On the braking part, it uses disc brakes at both ends. It is also offered with dual-channel ABS that ensures maximum safety under harsh braking conditions. Talking about its instrument panel, it features a twin-pod instrument cluster that gels along well with its retro-modern appeal.
It is expected that the manufacturer will showcase the same at the upcoming AutoExpo 2018 and when launched it will be priced near Rs 1.6 lakh to give a stiff competition to the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
