The manufacturers of Bentley vehicles have been associated with ‘La Mans’ race, the world’s oldest car race for sports cars. The ‘La Mans’ car race lasts for twenty four hours and was started in the year ‘1923’. Bentley participated in the first car race in ‘1923’ and have now come out with a 6 ‘limited’ version of car models. They have made these models to honor six drivers who drove Bentley and came out victorious in the race. The exclusive models are ‘Bentley Continental GT‘ available both in coupe and convertible models, and ‘GT Speed.’ The third model of this limited edition would be ‘Bentley Muslanne.’ The names of the drivers, are ‘John Duff, Dudley Benjafield, Woolf Barnato, Tim Birkin, Glen Kidston, and Guy Smith’.
Bentley has announced that they would manufacture only forty eight pieces of these three models, giving a chance for the limited edition car buyers to own an exclusive model. It is a well known fact that Bentley has won the race four times, in the years, ‘1923, 1927 and 1930’, in the twentieth century and in ‘2003’ in the twenty-first century. The last race mentioned was won by a driver, in ‘Bentley Speed 8’.
The limited edition cars would have a badge displaying the title, ‘Le Mans Limited Edition’. The interior of the vehicles will have special embroidery on the top end of the seats and quilted leather covering with special ‘diamond stitching,’ The pedals will be made of special ‘alloy’, the wheels will sport special color connected to the drivers who won the race.
A top management executive from Bentley said that the limited versions are made to celebrate the winning by Bentley cars in the race at Le Mans and also to commemorate its historical connection with the Le Mans racing event. The exclusive edition of cars is only available to be purchased in the North American car markets which makes them very exclusive.
