Bentley has announced its line-up of cars for the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, to be held between June 26th to June 29th this year.
Power and speed will be showcased by the new Bentley Continental GT3 race car on Goodwood’s famous hill run throughout the three day Festival. Powered by a race-going version of company's 600bhp-4.0 litre V8 engine, the GT3 is primed to spearhead the company’s return to top-level motorsport in the Blancpain Endurance Series in Europe this summer.
The new Bentley Continental GT V8 S will make its Goodwood debut in 2014. Powered by company's twin-turbo 4.0 litre engine, the GT is sleeker, faster and more responsive and has a 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 4.3 seconds. The new GT V8 S features lowered and stiffened suspension. Clearly identified by its distinctive ‘figure of eight’ exhaust tail pipes, the crowds will also be able to enjoy this model’s distinctive V8 full throttle soundtrack during the twice daily Supercar runs.
Legendary Bentley performance from another era comes in the form of a car known as ‘Old Number 1’. The Speed Six Bentley won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930 with Woolf Barnato partnering Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin (1929) and Glen Kidston (1930) as well as winning at Brooklands.
This racing car will be joined by two more Speed Six Bentleys. ‘Old Number 2’ and ‘Old Number 3’ are both in their original form and raced alongside Old No.1 at Le Mans in 1930. Only rarely seen together since their racing days, these three fabled Bentleys will be reunited at Goodwood 2014.
The new Flying Spur V8 sedan will also make its Goodwood debut. The car has a top speed of 295 kmph and 0-100 kmph covered in less than 5 seconds.
