It is a well known fact that Mahindra and Mahindra owns nearly seventy percent shares of the South Korean Motor manufacturing company ‘Ssangyong’. The car sales by Ssangyong in the month of April exceeded all expectations. The car manufacturer was able to sell twelve thousand six hundred and seven cars in the month of April 2013. This is the highest sale achieved by the them for any single month. The sales also improved the rate of growth in the home market as well. The sales figure for the month includes exports figure of seven thousand nine hundred and forty two pieces including completely knocked down packages as well. In December 2006 the company has sold a record number of cars, this figure exceeds the earlier record.
The growth in sales figures, both in home markets and overseas, is nearly twenty percent higher than last year. The overall sales increased by twenty five point nine percent in the month of April. The increase in sales figures is due to the popularity of the car series ‘Korando’, it is recorded that nearly five thousand one hundred and fifteen cars from this series were sold in the home market in the first four months of this year, as compared to the last year sale of five thousand vehicles. The growth rate was twenty seven point seven percent as compared to the same period last year.
At the same time the export of the vehicles also improved this year. The growth rate is 24-7 Percent and a little more than seven thousand cars were exported to the countries in south and central Americas and in Russia alone. The company expects to improve its overseas sales thanks to the popularity of ‘Korando’ series of cars. A senior executive from the company announced that they plan to build on the improved sales and endeavor to unveil better models in future.
