BMW that unveiled the facelifted version of its most successful executive sedan, the 5-Series at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, is now all set to launch the car in India on 10th October. The 5-series which is in its sixth generation, has received some styling updates and a few additional features over the outgoing version. And bringing the updated version of the 5-Series at a time when Mercedes-Benz has already launched the facelifted E-Class and Audi too introduced a special edition A6, is surely a move in the right direction.
Just like the global version, the Indian version of the car will also receive additional contour lines for the surround of the Kidney grille, revised lower air intakes, front fog lamps with added chrome surrounds, revised rear lights, extra crease on rear apron and new alloy wheels. While, diesel engine options offered on the car are likely to remain the same with 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine in two options and a 2.0-litre diesel engine, the petrol version is expected to get turbocharged mills in order to bring down the carbon footprint.
BMW that recently launched the 1-Series luxury hatchback in India, might also launch the 3-Series GT in India. And later on, the facelifted X5 will make its way to India. Pricing of the 5-Series hasn't been officially announced yet, we expect it to be priced almost similar to the outgoing version.
