African designer, Giom Mouton has made a come back with an amazing rendition. The designer illustrates some new changes from its prodigious predecessor BMW 8-Series. From the past few years, rumors regarding a new 8-series have been streaming all around the world. As of now, we know about the new BMW 7-Series facelift which is expected in the first quarter of 2016 and the Grand Lusso Concept with sparse technical details.
We assume that the Gran Lusso range-topping model will be powered by a V12 twin-turbo engine used in BMW 760i sedan. By using the design of its stylish predecessor, the 8-series sits 100 mm lower featuring classic coupe curves. According to the rendering, we can see the large shaped kidney grill making it up to “shark nose” design as it was prominent in the 70’s model like BMW 2000 CS coupe. The rear end is pretty much curvier than its precursor.
Talking about the BMW design, Giom Mouton said that “it is not difficult to come up with beautiful rear BMW designs since the inherent BMW DNA is already close to perfect. Especially when it comes to large coupes. The focus is on proportions. You get those right and the rest simply falls into place”. It seems that the Bavarian company is planning a a stylish coupe and could be named as the “9-Series”.
If the plan gets the green light, it could be the next generation design with Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for the passenger and, reportedly, a hybrid source could also be used as a wild card.
