BMW 1 Series sedan has been spotted in China as undisguised from front and rear. BMW’s entry in the compact C-segment is a bold move and happily this one is a sedan than the 1-series hatchback. Still only for the Chinese market, according to autohome.com.cn, the next generation hatchback of the 1-series will be a global product.
Reports suggest it this compact sedan will sport two petrol engine, with a 1.5litre 136bhp turbocharged engine and a 2.0 litre with two states of tune. Both turbocharged one will produce 192bhp and the other is capable of 231bhp. All usual fancy gimmicks will be equipped from LED headlamps, sunroof HUD display to a variety of 9 different alloy wheels to choose from. The 2.0litre version also come with dual exhaust pipes making it the exciting looking one for sure.
Based on UKL platform, which is found on the X1 and 2 Series GT, 1 Series sedan is 4,456mm long, 1,803mm wide and is a low 1,446mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,670mm on the BMW 1-series sedan, which is less than the CLA class but slightly more than Audi A3. As expected the BMW will highlight its driving dynamics and since that 2.0litre engine sounds like an enthusiast’s delight, it may very well be the nicest to drive in the segment. The 1.5litre engine will be the more efficient and eco friendly option to pick.
