BMW Motorrad has finally launched the much awaited G310R and its adventure tourer sibling BMW G310 GS in India at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Both these bikes have been making headlines for quite some time. The G310R naked streetfighter will give tough competition to the KTM Duke 390, while the BMW G310 GS will compete with challenge the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
Both the BMW G310R and G310 GS share same chassis and engine. Both the models will be produced locally in India in order to be priced aggressively. These two models are already on sale in several countries and have received pretty good response. In India too, the two bikes are expected to see great response considering the high enthusiasm regarding the premium high performance bikes.
In terms of styling, both the bikes appear very sculpted, sharp and bold looking. The sharp and strong headlamps, fully digital instrument cluster, sculpted looking muscular fuel tank, LED taillight, aerodynamic design, ergonomic seating position enhance both the bike’s visual appeal.
Both the BMW G310R and G310 GS are powered by the same 313 cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The engine is capable of churning out 34 bhp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. They both are equipped with inverted front forks and rear monoshock for suspension duty, but the adventure tourer comes with bit of tweaks. Both the BMW bikes get 300 mm front disk brake and 240 mm rear disc brake combined with dual-channel ABS.
