After the price hike of 5 percent in 2014, BMW Group India has announced a price increase of up to 3 per cent across the BMW and MINI product range, effective January1, 2016. BMW India is a pioneer in bringing luxurious dealerships in India and has set a decisive course by setting up BMW dealerships of international standards across the country. The brand has also set very high standards in service quality and customer care.
Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, “The increase in prices is in continuation of our endeavor to offer the most aspirational and exceptional products to our customers and on adding more value to their overall ownership experience. We believe that the circle of ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’ can only be completed by introducing innovative products, building world-class dealerships, state-of-the-art services that engages passionately with our clientele to deliver premium services ahead of its time.”
BMW currently sells 1-Series, 3-Series, 3-Series GT, 5 Series, 7-Series, X1, X3 and X5, which are locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai, and displays the 6 Series Gran Coupe, X6, Z4 Coupe, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan, M6 Gran Coupe, X5 M, X6 M and i8, which are available in the country as completely built-up units.
There has always been an intense battle in terms of sales among the three german luxury car brands - BMW, Audi and Mercedes. It’ll be interesting to see how this price rise will impact the sales of the BMW, which is already trailing behind its counterparts.
