BMW Group India which comprises BMW, Mini and Motorrad has appointed Mr Rudratej Singh as the President and CEO of BMW Group. Mr Rudratej Singh has 25 years of experience in which he held a number of leadership positions in automotive and other industries. Mr Rudratej Singh was the Global President at Royal Enfield in his last role and led the brand to achieve a number of accolades and milestones.
Mr Rudratej Singh also worked for 16 years with Unilever both in India and international markets. Mr Singh completed his graduation from Delhi University and holds an MBA degree in Marketing and Finance from Institute of Management Technology - Ghaziabad. For the update, Mr Vikram Pawah who was the BMW Group India president was appointed as the CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand. Dr Hans-Christian Baertels - CFO - BMW India was appointed as the acting President.
Working across diverse industries, Mr Singh has garnered a deep understanding of consumer insights, transformational leadership approach and strategic business techniques. His 25 years of experience at multiple leadership roles and fresh thinking will ultimately assist BMW Group to strengthen its India operations. BMW Group India has a manufacturing plant in Chennai, training centre in Mumbai, warehouse in Mumbai and the brand has its presence in major metro cities.
For the update, BMW Motorrad is all set to launch its litre-class supersport in the India market - the 2019 BMW S 1000RR. The official launch is scheduled to take place on June 27, 2019. BMW is also planning to launch its flagship SUV the BMW X7 in India, this year. As reported earlier, the BMW Group India is on a spree of launching new and updated products in the India market this year and Mr Rudratej Singh will play a crucial role in supervising the planned activities of the German giant.
