BMW India Slashes Car Prices by upto Rs. 4.5 Lakhs

Snapshot: The models that witness cheaper prices now, are 1 Series, 3 Series, 3 Series Gran Turismo, 5 Series, 7 Series, X1, X3 and X5.

BMW India has slashed the prices of all its locally manufactured models in the country. The dropped prices vary from model to model and are in range of 1-4.5 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom,Delhi & Mumbai), depending on the product. The company had recently increased the localization level at its Chennai plant by upto 50 percent. The models that witness cheaper prices now, are 1 Series, 3 Series, 3 Series Gran Turismo, 5 Series, 7 Series, X1, X3 and X5. All the aforementioned vehicles are produced locally in India.

Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, "The future belongs to India. If you want to benefit from the dynamics of the Indian market, you need to act today. Following our approach 'Production follows the market', we have accelerated our localization program in India. We have created a win-win situation for our customers with a wide range of exclusively authentic luxury products and now equally attractive value proposition with 'Make in India'." Talking about the BMW BMW 118d Sport Line, the only variant of BMW's entry-level offering, it costs Rs. 29.50 Lakhs. Coming to the 3-Series variants, the 320d Prestige, 320d Luxury Line, and the top-end 320d Sport Line are now priced at Rs. 34.90 Lakhs, 38.90 Lakhs, and 38.90 Lakhs, respectively. Each of the variant's price is dropped by Rs. 1 Lakh.

The BMW 3-Series GT Luxury Line, which was launched recently, now has a sticker price of Rs. 42.90 Lakhs, which is around Rs. 1.60 lesser than the previous price. Moving to BMW 5-Series, all the variants witness a drop of Rs. 2 Lakhs. The 520d Prestige, 520d Prestige Plus and 520d Luxury Line are now priced at Rs. 44.90 Lakhs, 47.90 Lakhs, and Rs. 49.90 Lakhs, respectively. Last but not least, the company's flagship offering, the 7-Series doesn't witness any changes in the pricing and they are the same as previous. As far as SUV portfolio is concerned, the German autmaker retails three SUVs - X1, X3 and X5. The X1 and X3 are priced as previously, while the X5's prices are dropped upto Rs. 4.6 Lakhs. The base xDrive30d Expedition variants costs Rs. 65.90 Lakhs, while the X5 xDrive30d Design Pure Experience is now priced at Rs. 69.90 Lakhs and Rs. 72.90 Lakhs in its standard 5-seater and 7-seater avatars, respectively.
