BMW India has launched the high-performance M3 sedan and M4 coupe at a sticker price of Rs. 1.19 Crore and Rs. 1.21 Crore (Ex. Showroom), respectively in the country. This M duo is based on on the 3-series sedan and the designing is also quite identical. Leaving alone nomenclature, both the M3 and M4 are quite similar to each other as M4 is the coupe version of M3 sedan which gets 2 extra doors, due to being a sedan.

Inside the cabin, both these M twins have interiors similar to the 3-series sedan, though with certain upgrades. The BMW M3 as well as M4 boast track-inspired systems like Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Stability Clutch Control (SCC), three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus) and launch control function. However, the main highlight of this new dynamic duo remains to be the immensely powerful 3.0L, 6-cylinder twin-turbo petrol motor.

It churns out a massive power of 425 bhp and peak torque of 550Nm. The engine is being paired with a seven-speed M dual clutch automatic gearbox which transmits the power to the rear wheels of the sedan and coupe. In addition, it also features paddle-shifters for the added convenience of the driver.

Both these cars, M3 and M4 weigh lesser than 1500 kgs, due to the extensive use of lightweighting materials like aluminium. It has not only resulted in high performance but has also enhanced the fuel economy by 25 percent. The BMW M twins touch the 100kmph mark from standstill in a mere 4 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Both these cars will be brought in India via CBU (Completely Built Units) and would be available at company dealerships from today.
