It was at the beginning of the month when BMW provided a sneak preview of its M6 Competition Edition and now the model has received its world premiere at 2015 IAA in Frankfurt, Germany. It can be had with either an Austin Yellow or Alpine White metallic paint and if you go for the latter, the high-performance model from Bavaria also gets decorative stripes in the iconic M colors in the same vein as the ones applied onto the M6 GT3 racecar. Regardless of paint scheme, the vehicle rides on light-alloy 20-inch wheels featuring a 343 M double-spoke design.
The BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition has also received carbon fiber side mirror caps, diffuser and rear spoiler along with a black chrome look for the kidney grille, side gills and the door handles while inside the cabin it hosts Merino leather-wrapped seats featuring a black finish contrasted by yellow or white, depending on the body’s hue. To spice up the model even further, BMW has installed a head-up display, carbon fiber gear selector, Harman Kardon or Bang Olufsen sound system along with an M sports steering wheel.
Available only in the coupe body style, the BMW M6 Competition Edition has the familiar V8 4.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which in this application churns no less than 600 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Those who are willing to pay more for the optional M Driver’s Package will be able to reach a top speed of 305 kmph.
It’s already available and BMW is asking €17,700 on top of a standard M6 Coupe and at an additional cost the vehicle can be further customized with a smoker’s package, different 20-inch rims, multifunction driver and passenger seats as well as other goodies jacking up the price even further as these options don’t come cheap.
