German car maker BMW has launched the much-anticipated M6 Gran Coupe in India, priced at INR 1.75 Crore (ex. showroom). Making its first public appearance at the recently concluded Delhi Auto-Expo, the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe is essentially the performance tuned version of the standard 6 Series Gran Coupe and in India.
Inside, the Gran Coupe gets all the features of the standard M6 with the addition of the delicious looking Alcantara upholstery, leather seats and a sporty three-spoke steering wheel. BMW’s idrive and seat memory function are part of the standard design.
Based on the design outlines of the company's Z4 Coupe, the car carries the trade-mark kidney shaped grille, swept back headlamps, long hood and the mesh air intake that is complemented by a sporty bumper. GT gets a contrast coloured roof which flows into the C-pillar creating a low and sloping rear roofline and the sides are dominated by the sporty 20-inch alloys. The rear gets Quad exhausts, wrap around tail lamps and a large bumper. Last but not the least, the single 'M' badge signifying the performance character of the series.
Powered by a mighty 4.4-litre twin-power turbocharged V8 unit that churns out 560 horses of power and 677 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The car sprints 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and can go upto an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. In terms of safety the M6 Gran Coupe gets eight airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control and obviously various driving modes.
