BMW Motorrad achieved the record sales for the 3rd consecutive year, 2013. The German giant has sold over 1.15 lakh units of its premium motorcycles across the globe. The company recorded an overall growth of 8.3% over last year. BMW Motorrad has been performing its business operations since last 3 years in India and maintaining a good product's portfolio for each segment of buyers. The company has been offering a total of ten products divided under five categories - High Performance, Sport, Tour, Enduro and Urban.
Out of the company's total sales, BMW Motorrad has sold over 21,473 units in Germany alone that makes it the largest selling market for the company. The US market topped at second position with sales of over 14,000 motorcycles in the country, while Brazil and United Kingdom crossed ten thousand units mark. Alongwith the substantial growth in the aforementioned markets, the company officials have said that company is also growing in the other developing markets like Asia and South America.
The BMW R1200GS was been the most-selling motorcycle from the Motorrad's stable that was sold out nearly 30,000 units across the world. The R1200GS comes from the Enduro family and is popular for its go-anywhere capabilities. The bike is powered by a 2-cylinder boxer type 1170cc engine that produces the peak power of 110 BHP and 120 Nm of torque. The German motomaker is supposed to see a considerable amount of growth in year 2014 as introduction of the naked S1000RR and Nine T will help the company to explore the segments which are unexplored until now.
