BMW Motorrad reports all-time high half-year sales
Snapshot: The German manufacturer sold 70,978 two-wheelers globally in the first half of 2014 which is 9.3% more than the units sold for the same duration last year
BMW Motorrad is riding high and far this year so far on its boxer twin engines. With almost 15,000 units of the legendary R 1200 GS, followed by 9,708 units of R 1200 GS Adventure followed by 7,420 units of R 1200 RT. The recently launched R nineT impressed with the figure of 4,114 units.
Commenting on this proud moment, Heiner Faust, Head of Sales and Marketing, BMW Motorrad said, “We have achieved an all-time six-month high in the first half of this year. Never before have we sold this many vehicles in the first six months of a year. With an increase of 9.3 % in the first half of 2014, we remain on course to achieve an all-time sales high for the year as a whole.”
These models were the focus points of the 14th Motorrad Days in Garmisch – Partenkirchen held last weekend. Apart from the motorcycles, the maxi scooter C evolution also made its presence felt with its electric drive and superb dynamic performance. Close to 40,000 visitors attended the world's biggest BMW motorcycle meet and were allowed to experience the entire range of BMW Motorrad.
