German auto manufacturer, BMW has filed the homologation papers with the CARB (California Air Resources Base), indicating that the all new R1200R is very well on its way to be launched and being optimistic, we very well believe that the 2014 Intermot Show to be held on 30th Septemeber in Cologne, Germany can very well be its launching pad.
The bike will retain the same engine as the older siblings, R1200RT and R1200GS. The engine will be producing 125hp @ 7750rpm and a torque of 125Nm @ 6500rpm. We don't know the other specifications for knowing, but the bike will be more aggressive than the older versions, that's for sure. The CARB papers also say that the bike will be at least 10kgs lighter than other machines with same engine specs.
Although there are no proper or official images available on the machine anywhere, going by what is making the rounds on the net, we can hope that the traditional front suspension will be replaced by a dual fork suspension. A tubular frame, LED headlamps, short and steep tail pipe and a single sided swingarm, can also be expected on bike to make the new BMW a mean looking bike.
Apart from speculations about Intermot, BMW can chose EICMA for the launch, which is slated to be held later this year. Read about other interesting bike launching at Intermot here.
