BMW reveals the all-new Alpina B7

BMW unveiled the all-new 2017 BMW ALPINA B7 xDrive which is a high-performance luxury sedan based on the new BMW 7-series. The company also announced it as the third generation of Alpina automobiles and this Alpina B7's  V8 twin-turbo engine is tuned, so as to produce 670 Nm of torque even at 2000 rpm ensuring optimal performance.

Talking about the exterior, the ALPINA design and aerodynamic elements emphasize its performance character, with the front and rear spoiler, which has been redesigned compared to the regular 7-Series. Sporting the 20 inch Alpina Classic wheels with twenty spokes and concealed air valves are also specific to the BMW Alpina B7 xDrive. It is also offered with the optional 21 inch Alpina Classic forged wheels with visible wheel bolts do not feature concealed air valves and wheel caps, if you are really interested in weight reduction.

Under the hood, the US-spec B7 is powered by 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine which has been borrowed from the smaller B5, based on the 5-Series. The motor is paired with a 8-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission with Alpina Switch-Tronic and all-wheel drive system that churns out 600 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque. It accelerates in just 3.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, which makes it 0.8 seconds faster than its predecessor while reaching a top speed of up to 193 mph (preliminary figure).

In terms of features, the new B7 gets a 2-axle air suspension system combined with Dynamic Damper Control and Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview guarantees the very highest level of driving comfort at all times.

The Alpina B7 will also get a rear-wheel-drive version, which is expected to launch in the European market after making its debut in march this year.
