The cabin of the petrol variant is similar as seen in the BMW 3 Series but still gets some additional updates including chrome highlights, high gloss surface & ambient lights. It also features BMW’s iDrive on board Driver Information system, BMW Apps, Park Distance Control as standard, while Luxury Line gets BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps, Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode and Brake-Energy Regeneration.

Under the hood, the 320i draws its power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that delivers 181bhp and a maximum torque of 270Nm at 1,350 – 4,600rpm. The engine is paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission that performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts and make it go from 0 – 100kmph in just 7.3 seconds before hitting the electronically controlled top speed of 235 kmph.

The BMW 3 Series petrol trim will be brought through CBU route in the country, unlike its diesel variant, assembled at the company’s Chennai facility. While the 320i will be a good option for the petrolheads, thanks to the BMW’s Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Electronic Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.
