Prototypes of the latest generation BMW X5 M and X6 M have been spotted a few months ago in India, so there are enough reasons to believe both high-performance SAVs will arrive in our country in the near future. Seen here is an upgrade package tailored to these two models and it has been created by the tuners at Dähler Design & Technik GmbH who decided the models need even more power. With a twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine under the hood, the M duo comes as standard with a more than generous 575 bhp and 750 Nm of torque which for most people is enough.
However, Dähler has a different opinion and their first stage kit bumps the motor’s power to 664 bhp and a maximum torque of 820 Nm. With the aftermarket kit applied, the BMW X5 M and X6 M will be able to complete the 0-100 kmph run in just 3.9 seconds, thus being 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard versions. Moreover, the top speed increases from the electronically limited 250 kmph to a whopping 305 kmph which for safety purposes it’s still restricted.
If for some reason you want even more power, the stage 2 kit developed Dähler lifts output of the V8 engine to an enormous 680 bhp and 860 Nm which in return will lower the 0-100 kmph sprint time to just 3.8 seconds whereas the top speed continues to be capped at 305 kmph.
To match the extra muscle, the BMW X5 and X6 M can be equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system, 22-inch and 23-inch lightweight alloy wheels, an adjustable chassis, high-performance catalysts along with some cosmetic tweaks both inside and out.
Last but not least, the two SAVs can get an improved gas pedal response and also a tweaked rpm limiter as the engineers at Dähler want to make the M duo even sportier.
