BMW India has launched the X6 M Sport at a sticker price of Rs. 94.15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) at the 2018 Auto Expo. Being introduced in a fully loaded single variant as BMW X6 xDrive35i M Sport, it would be available at BMW dealerships across India as a completely built-up unit (CBU) from today onwards. The Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) comes with M Sport package as standard. BMW X6 M Sport would challenge the likes of Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Porsche 911 Turbo in the Indian market.
Speaking of the exterior styling, BMW X6 M Sport flaunts Adaptive LED Headlights, ‘M’ badge on front wings and M designation on the doorsill. It rides on 20-inch M light alloy wheels, while boasting of M Aerodynamics package with its distinctive front apron, enlarged air inlets and side sills with additional character line. The tailgate is automatically operative and adaptive M suspension also comes as standard fitment. Inside the cabin, there are a lot of bells and whistles in form of electronically adjustable sports seats in leather upholstery with memory function, M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons and integrated gearshift paddles, Ambient lighting, BMW Head-Up display, Doorsill finishers with M logo, Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Electronic Power Steering, BMW Individual headliner in anthracite and aluminum hexagon interior trim finishers.
The BMW X6 M Sport packs a plethora of premium features like the next generation BMW iDrive (on-board Driver Information System) with handwriting recognition, BMW Navigation Touch (integrated Global Positioning System – GPS) with a 26 cm colour display and 3D maps, 16 loud speakers with 600 Watts high-end Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon and host of other BMW Apps and Connectivity through Bluetooth / USB devices. Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera come as standard features. The German automaker has equipped the SAC with an array of exquisite safety features such as six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, Hill Descent Control (HDC), side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel.
Under the hood, BMW X6 M Sport has the 3.0L 6-cylinder V6 petrol motor which belts out top power of 306bhp and peak torque of 400Nm between 1200-5000rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Sport Steptronic automatic transmission with paddle shifters on offer as well. The SUVish coupe carries the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. In addition, the driver is able to choose between different driving modes: ECOPRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+. It accelerates from 0 -100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds.
