The Mercedes AMG had revealed its AMG GT Roadster super car at the Paris Motor Show earlier this year. The AMG GT Roadster includes the open top AMG GT, the AMG GT C Roadster and the mean machine, the AMG GT R. The giant automobile maker has announced that it is accepting bookings for the GT range in the European market and they will start getting delivered in 2017.
The AMG GT Roadster, the Mercedes-Benz super car, is the replacement to the SLS AMG. It gets the same reminiscent chiseled lines of the AMG GT coupe and similar 4.0litre, V8 twin turbocharged engine, that churns out a beastly power of 476bhp. The roofless structure makes for a grand drive experience. The AMG GT C carries similar bodily design and is everything that the GT is. However, it has got a much more powerful engine under the bonnet. The V8 engine produces a whopping 557bhp power and delivers a peak torque of 680Nm to the rear wheels.
But the AMG GT R takes the power to an altogether different level, acting as the hunk among its siblings. It carries the meanest engine that produces terrific power of 585bhp under its bonnet, that perfectly complements the meticulously graphed aerodynamics, lightweight chassis and modified suspension. The front grille gets a sporty vertical design and the five spoke alloy wheels expose the contrasting yellow-coloured brake callipers to add to the mean devilish look.
The price of the Roadster GT is in and around the INR 94 lakhs (approx) mark, whereas the GT C has been priced at INR 1.16 crore (approx). However, the Roadster GT R has the highest price tag of around 1.20 crore INR. Mercedes might be thinking of offering the same range of cars in India as well, but this will only be possible after the deliveries start in the first half of 2017.
