After the launch of the Skoda Rapid facelift last year, the company has been working on a new edition of the sedan, that is, the Monte Carlo edition. The car was earlier stated to be launched in the festive season this year. However, the is confirmed to be launched this month and the booking has commenced already.
The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo looks like a sportier version of the regular Rapid sedan. The new edition gets dual tone exterior with red body and black bits all over. The front grille gets a glossy black treatment along with the ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors), roof and the front lip spoiler. The 5-spoke alloy wheels also get dual tone colours of black and metallic.
The interior designing of the new Rapid Monte Carlo is rendered from the international version. The gear knob and steering wheel get a black leather coating that has red stitches on them. The seats are covered with red, black and white coloured upholstery. The foot pedals are also given a metallic touch to it.
The new Monte Carlo edition of the Skoda Rapid sedan is expected to get the same set of mechanical specifications as the current standard model. If so, it will be getting a 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine which would be capable of making a maximum power of 104 bhp and a peak torque of 153 Nm. The 1.5-litre TDI diesel car will be more powerful with 109 bhp of peak power along with 250 Nm of maximum torque. The transmission duties will be done by a manual/automatic gearbox.
The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will be competing with the likes of the Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and many be a better one to choose given its sporty appeal. You can book this sedan through the official website of Skoda India.
