The recent acquisition of Polaris where it bought Brammo Motorcycles which is one of the leading companies when it comes to provide mobility solutions based on electric drive technologies for motorcycle based designs. Brammo is recalling certain Brammo Empulse and Empulse R motorcycles from the 2013 and 2014 model year line-up. Recalling a total of 149 units, the affected models were made between November 19, 2012 and July 8, 2014.
The point of issue is the Empulse’s gearbox, as the transmission breather tube may blow onto the rear fender and tire. Should this occur, oil could contact the rear tire, and cause of loss of traction, increasing the likelihood of a crash. According to the NHTSA, Brammo will notify affected owners, and Brammo dealers will install a new transmission breather baffle kit free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 12, 2015.
