The prices of BS-VI compliant Vespa and Aprilia scooters are out.
The Aprilia SR 150 Race is available at an on-road price of Rs 1.31 lakhs.
The Vespa Elegante VXL 150 costs Rs 1.52 lakhs.
Upgrading the automobile engines to comply with BS-VI emission norms incurs a considerable cost. As a result, every upgraded two-wheeler is more expensive than its corresponding BS-IV compliant counterpart. With other two-wheeler manufacturers announcing their upgraded models one by one, Piaggio is ready with the final list of BSVI Aprilia and Vespa pricing.
The list shows that some of the high-end models are now priced nearly Rs 20,000 higher than before. The updated list is available hereunder that shows the details of the ex-showroom Delhi and the on-road Delhi price, as well. This increase has resulted in taking the cost of every Vespa and Aprilia model above the Rs 1 lakh mark.
Dealers confirm that Piaggio has started despatching BS-VI versions of the Vespa SXL 150. The other models will follow very soon. The delivery of these BS-VI Vespa and Aprilia models will begin from January 2020.
As additional details of the specifications and features are not available, it is not clear whether Piaggio will offer additional equipment or features on these bikes to offset the price hike. Other auto manufacturers like Honda and TVS have revealed their BS-VI compliant vehicles like the Activa 125 and the Apache RTR 200 4V.
