BSVI Honda City Petrol price range is Rs 10.22 to 14.68 lakhs.
The price hike over the BS-IV models is between Rs 10,000 to 16,000.
Honda City Petrol models upgraded to become BS VI-compliant.
Honda will be launching the BSVI-compliant petrol variants of the Honda City in a few days. The BSVI Honda City prices will be in the range of Rs 10.22 to 14.68 lakhs, an increase of Rs 10,000 to 16,000 as compared to the respective BS-IV models.
Honda has upgraded the existing 119hp 4-cylinder petrol engine to meet BSVI emission norms. Honda continues to offer the manual and CVT versions on all models. The nominal increase in prices ensures that the equipment on offer will not change.
The price rise should not affect the sales of the Honda City much because it was already expensive when compared to its rivals, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, and the Skoda Rapid.
The diesel variants will get an upgrade before the April 2020 deadline. It includes the 1.5L diesel engine available on all Honda cars. The 1.2L petrol variants on the Amaze, WR-V, and the Jazz will also get an upgrade by April 2020.
The 5th-gen Honda City will be unveiled in Thailand on November 25, 2019. The vehicle will arrive in India by the end of next year. The new model will come with a diesel CVT option and a mild-hybrid petrol engine variant, as well.
