- Mahindra XUV300 is the first BS-VI compliant product by the company to be officially launched in India.
- It has been priced from Rs 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
- It rivals the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and the Hyundai Venue.
Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI has been launched in the Indian market. It has been priced from Rs 8.30 lakh for the base W4 trim and the price extends up to Rs 11.84 lakh for the fully loaded W8(O) trim, both prices are ex-showroom, pan-India. In comparison to the earlier BS-IV models, the new BS-VI car costs near about Rs 20,000 higher.
The center of the discussion is the BS-VI compliant 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine which is rated to deliver 110 hp of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the earlier BS-IV engine, the torque output has stumbled by 10 Nm.
If you recall, the company has revealed in the past that Bolero Power Plus has already received BS-VI certified by International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) but the same is yet to be officially launched in the market.
The Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI rivals the likes of models like Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and the Hyundai Venue. Currently, Maruti Vitara Brezza is only present in diesel avatar but a petrol variant is also in the pipeline. The company will launch the Vitara Brezza petrol in early 2020, and it goes without saying that it will be BS-VI compliant.
Though the new XUV300 might be the first official BS-VI model to be launched in the market, it will be safe to expect that more such BS-VI compliant models will be launched by Mahindra in the near future.
Apart from this, Mahindra is also gearing up to launch the next-gen Thar, Scorpio and the XUV500 which was spotted very recently undergoing tests on the Indian roads. Stay tuned for more such updates.
