Mercedes Benz India has launched the E-Class long wheelbase sedan with BS VI engines at a starting price of Rs 57.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. It is available in E 200 & E 220 d in two new variants: Expression and Exclusive. The E-Class long wheelbase is India's highest selling luxury sedan and it is the only country in the world to get the right-hand-drive version of the long wheelbase model. Besides the new BS VI compliant petrol and diesel engines, Mercedes Benz E Class also boasts of new interior theme and features.
 
 
The 2019 E-Class sedan comes with a luxurious interior cabin which comprises of vertical stitching pattern on the seats. The floor carpets and dashboard are done in ARTICO contrast with the upholstery color, while high quality velour floor mats also come as standard. The windscreen cockpit gets a futuristic-looking 12.3-inch instrument cluster with 3 display styles: Classic, Sport and Progressive. Other salient features include Burmester high-end surround sound system, rear wireless charger, and rear infotainment system. Coming to the safety features, the saloon is equipped with ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, Full LED Headlamps, PRE-SAFE, Parking Pilot with Active Parking Assist PARKTRONIC and reversing camera, Adaptive brake lights and 7 airbags as standard.

Mechanically, the E-Class LWB will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants will draw power from a 1991cc 4-cylinder BS 6 M 264 engine which develops top power of 197bhp between 5800-6100rpm and peak torque of 300Nm between 1600-4000rpm. It does a 0-100kmph sprint in just 8 seconds before touching a top speed of 236kmph. On the other hand, the diesel variants are powered by a 1950 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine which belts out 194bhp at 3800rpm and highest torque of 400Nm between 1600-2800rpm. The diesel variants touch the 100kmph mark from standstill in merely 7.3 seconds before topping out at 240kmph. Both the engines are linked to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard.
