- KTM 200 facelift to borrow several elements from 250 Duke.
- KTM 200 facelift design to be inspired by 390 Duke.
- KTM also planning to launch KTM 125 facelift in coming weeks.
KTM is all set to launch the facelifted version of the Duke 200 sports-naked motorcycle in the Indian market. The KTM 200 facelift will take designing cues from the 390 Duke while majority of the elements will be shared with the 250 Duke. It is likely to be around Rs 5,000-10,000 more expensive than the BS 4 model. KTM 200 challenges the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200, Hero Xtreme 200R and TVS Apache 180 RTR in the Indian market.
Speaking of the styling, KTM 200 Duke is all set to sport a sleeker headlight design with a halogen bulb, identical to the 250 Duke. The LED DRL will also be borrowed from the 250 sibling. In fact, the instrument cluster will also be sourced from the 250 and contrary to rumors, it will not the TFT unit from the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. The reasons are pretty obvious that the company doesn't want to project it as premium offering but as budget-friendly bike. The new bike will also boast of new body panels and bolt-on subframe as standard fitments.
Mechanically, KTM 200 facelift will continue to be powered by the same 199.5cc motor, albeit with a revised exhaust pipe. The single-cylinder engine is expected to deliver similar power output of 25bhp and torque performance of 19Nm as the ongoing BS 4 model. Meanwhile, in other news, it is also been heard that KTM 125 will also get new styling updates soon. Though, the bike isn't old by any means but its styling appears outdated and hence, the company will introduce it with fresh design and appearance. It could be launched in February 2020 in the country.
