Bajaj Auto has announced the pricing of the BS6 versions of the Avenger 160 Street and the Avenger 220 Cruise/Street. As a result, many Bajaj dealers have started accepting bookings for the same. The pricing of the bikes is as follows:-
Bajaj Bike models | New pricing – Ex-showroom | Increase over the BS4 model | On-road approximate pricing |
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street | Rs 89,536 | 7,501 | Rs 1.13 lakhs |
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise and Street | Rs 1.15 lakhs | Rs 11,584 | Rs 1.43 lakhs |
The Bajaj Avenger 160, an entry-level cruiser was an immediate success after its launch last year as a replacement for the Bajaj Avenger 180. Despite the reduction in the engine capacity, the BS4-compliant 160.4cc 1-cylinder air-cooled engine delivers a maximum power of 15hp and a torque of 13.5Nm. With the upgrade to meet BS6 norms, the expectation is that the performance might not vary much. The changes to the engine include the replacement of the carburettor by a fuel-injection system and a new exhaust.
Dealers have begun accepting the bookings of the BS6 models. Bajaj has also upgraded the Avenger 220 models, as well.
The Avenger 220 Street and Cruise have received their second update after the single-channel ABS that they got a year back. There are not many changes except for a revamped exhaust system and the change to a fuel injection system. For the record, the existing BS4 engine on these bikes delivers a power of 19hp and torque of 17.5Nm.
The Avenger 220 Cruise differs from the 220 Street because of its optional large windshield, and the chrome-embellishments. Meanwhile, the Avenger 220 Street comes with an attractive matte black finish.
