Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will launch the Activa 6G on December 21, 2019, in the country. The company has sent out an official invitation for the same but has refrained from revealing the name of the product but it is highly expected that it will indeed be the Activa 6G. This will be the third BS 6 product from Honda in the Indian market after the Activa 125 and recently launched SP 125.
The BS-6 certified Honda Activa 6G is expected to get new connectivity features which include call alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. Its arch-rival, TVS Jupiter's Grande Edition, which was launched recently, already has all of these features as standard. The new scooter is also likely to boast of a fuel filler cap while riding on 12-inch alloy wheels.
Drum brakes will be on offer as standard while front disc can be available as an option. It will flaunt a restyled LED headlamp as well as integrated LED turn signals on the front. The tail lamp cluster and the seat could also be offered in a redesigned layout.
Honda Activa 6G is likely to come with telescopic front suspension which will fill in the shoes of old trailing link front suspension, which has been with the scooter from the beginning. The rear suspension will get an adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic setup, while the chassis could also be updated to enhance the handling experience.
Mechanically, the Activa 6G will draw power from a BS 6 certified 110cc single-cylinder petrol engine, albeit with a fuel injection system instead of a carburetor unit. The power and torque figures are not known yet while the price is expected to be at least Rs 5-10k premium over the current-gen model.
