Maruti Suzuki launches BS-Vl compliant WagonR 1.0.
Prices begin at Rs 4.42 lakh ex-showroom.
Top-spec variant priced at Rs 5.33 lakh, ex-showroom.
Prices increased by a flat Rs 8000 across variants.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR with the 1-liter engine has been upgraded to BS Vl specifications, and it has resulted in a price hike of Rs 8000 across variants. Nothing else changes with the vehicle, except for a slight dip in claimed fuel efficiency.
The dip in fuel efficiency is a nominal one, with its ARAI fuel efficiency going from 22.5 kmpl to 21.79 kmpl, a reduction of 0.71 kmpl. There is no change to the power and torque figures, which remain at 67 bhp and 90 Nm from the 998 cc three-cylinder petrol engine.
The feature set remains the same, with it being available with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT automatic. The WagonR 1.0 is available in six different variants, which are basically three variants, and there is the option pack for each, which adds a second airbag for the front passenger to the variant.
The base model LXi is now priced at Rs 4.42 lakh, ex-showroom, and at the other end of the range the VXI (O) AGS is priced at Rs 5.33 lakh. A table with each of the prices, both old and new, are listed below.
The WagonR has a fair bit of competition from its own siblings like the Celerio, Alto K10, and the recently-launched S-Presso. In addition, there is also the Hyundai Santro, Datsun GO, and Tata Tiago.
