Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift version to launch with a BSVI-compliant petrol engine.
The Vitara Brezza Facelift model has been spied testing on Indian roads recently.
Besides the engine upgrade, the SUV will come with additional features.
Ever since the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in 2016, the SUV has been amongst the top-selling brands in the market. Having dethroned the Ford EcoSport, the Vitara Brezza has managed to stave off other capable rivals to maintain its ranking.
Tata Motors launched the Tata Nexon in 2017 to grab the second spot by selling more than 4,500 units. However, the arrival of the Hyundai Venue has changed the scene altogether. Apart from being India’s first connected SUV, the Hyundai Venue offers various innovative features including an extensive range of engines.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza lost the top position for a while before bouncing back with attractive discounts to lure its customers. The company plans to maintain the lead by announcing that the facelifted version will launch very soon in the Indian market scene.
The BS6 Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift might get an unveiling at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. In this connection, the vehicle has also been spied testing on a few occasions. From the videos, one can gather that there will not be many external changes to the car.
The SUV will still continue to have a traditional boxy design. However, the front fascia could get a refurbished grille along with new bumpers and headlights. Over the past four years, the SUV runs on a 1.3L DDiS 200 diesel motor that pairs with either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed auto transmission system.
With the BSVI emission norms cut-off date in sight, the most significant upgrade for the SUV will be a 1.5L mild-hybrid engine. This engine, already available in the Ertiga and Ciaz, delivers 104.7ps or power and a torque of 138Nm. It mates with a 4-speed torque converter auto transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox. Apart from the mandatory BS-VI compliant engine, the Vitara Brezza Facelift could get minor tweaks to enhance the attraction quotient.
