Suzuki Motorcycles India has unveiled the BS 6 compliant Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Japanese bikemaker showcased its entire lineup of BS 6 scooters and motorcycles at the event which will be launched soon in the country.
As for styling, the BS 6 models are similar to their BS 4 counterparts. The main highlights include LED headlight, an LED taillight, digital instrument cluster and a twin-pod muffle. Even the other specifications are identical to the older BS 4 models. The company has also kept the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition while no decision has been made yet on the Moto GP livery equipped variant.
Mechanically, the Gixxer 250 duo is powered by the same BS 6 certified 249 CC, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC, fuel-injected petrol engine which churns out 26bhp at 9300rpm and 22.2Nm at 7,300 rpm. The BS 4 model had the same power output and torque performance, albeit at different RPMs. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox while dual-channel ABS is available as standard. Other accessories with the motorcycles include tank protector, saddlebags, DC socket and seat covers.
