- BS 6 Harrier to get new color scheme and alloy wheels
Tata Motors organized a grand event just a couple of days back to launch the all-new Altroz hatchback and the facelifted versions of Tiago, Tigor and Nexon in the country. On the sidelines of this event, it also teased the BS6-compliant Harrier with panoramic sunroof. The new BS6 Harrier SUV is expected to launch before April 2020 while it will take on the likes of MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur in the Indian market.
The Tata Harrier BS6 model will come with several cosmetic updates over the current model. It will boast of a panoramic sunroof while riding on 18-inch dual tone alloy wheels, which we have already seen with the Buzzard at the Geneva Auto Show last year. The new Harrier 2020 model will get both these updates on the flagship variant. In addition, the teaser video played at the Altroz launch also confirmed the introduction of a new 'red' paint scheme on the BS6 version of the SUV. It is also been learnt through reliable sources that the interior will also see a mild update in form of upholstery and features.
Mechanically, it will be available with the same 2.0L 4-cylinder Kyrotech diesel engine. However, the engine will be more powerful than before as it would develop power around 170bhp while also being BS6-compliant. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard but Tata Motors will also offer a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, which will be sourced from Hyundai. The BS6 Tata Harrier will make its first public appearance at the 2020 Auto Expo on February 5 in India. The company will also showcase three more all-new products at the Delhi Motor Show in form Gravitas 7-seat SUV, H2X micro-SUV and Altroz EV.
