It has a market share above 40 percent while the Japanese automaker has retailed around 2.70 Lakh units of Innova Crysta since its launch in 2016. The deliveries of the BS 6 models will start from February 2020 across the country. The company has added a few safety features as standard across all the variants in form of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Assist Control (HAC) and Emergency Brake Signal (EBS).
With the introduction of BS6 Innova Crysta, the regulatory limits of the most harmful vehicle emission i.e. the Particulate matter 2.5 (PM 2.5) have become the same for all the cars, large or small, irrespective of their size and fuel types like CNG, petrol, and diesel.
Toyota has updated only 2.4-litre diesel engine to the BS6 emission levels while the heavier and more powerful 2.8-litre diesel engine mated with an automatic transmission has been phased out.
Toyota Innova Crysta has practically no direct rival in the Indian market but it faces a bit of challenge from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is placed a segment below, and from the upcoming Kia Carnival, which will be positioned a segment above.
