What was the first car to cross 1000bhp mark? What was the first production street legal car to cross 400kmph mark? What was the first car to bring together space age technology to a road going car? All these questions lead to one possible answer, the Buggati Veyron! An international website has recently posted spied images of Bugatti car testing in full camouflage, which seems like a stylized version of the Veyron on the first look.
Though mistake not, on the closer looks, it is a completely different vehicle altogether. That's because is isn't a Veyron, instead it is the Veyron replacement, dubbed as Chiron, if rumours are to be believed. The spy shots suggests that the car houses an electric powertrain, and it may very well be true, considering how Volkswagen (the parent company), is moving towards more and more performance oriented Hybrid cars.
Another visible difference is the huge carbon-ceramic brakes, which are as huge as the wheels itself! Buggati introduced one of the most powerful and biggest brakes in Veyron Super Sports to stop the vehicle at the speeds in excess of 430kmph, but the brakes spotted in the test mule dwarfs those brakes too. Apart from brakes, a visible change in the air ducts and the amputation of rear spoiler can be seen.
Interestingly, the rear spoiler worked as a secondary brake to stop the vehicles at high speeds and ditching it, is the reason why Chiron host such a huge brakes. The removal of the spoiler is the major reason, that helped the people on the spot, identify the rear mounted hybrid engine, the same engine that will produce in excess of 1500hp, thanks to extra 300hp from the electric motor(s).
On the inside, the car has been spied with a steering, which imminently reminds us of the VW GTI. But that doesn't mean, the multi-million car will share the steering of a hatchback. It might just be for the testing purposes. Otherwise, the interiors exhibit a typical Buggati design.
Though, we don't know, for how much longer we will have to wait to see this new Bugatti break many records. And regarding cost, it's better if we don't discuss it! Come on, a Bugatti with a Hybrid engine, will put to shame many expensive cars of the world.
