Snapshot: The Enigmatic Rider Phenomena Casey Stoner, returns to racing this time with 8 Hour Suzuka Endurance race!!!
As diehard fans and followers of Moto GP we have grown to believe that Casey Stoner was probably the best and the most talented motorcycle racer in the modern era of Moto GP. Since his declaration of retirement from Moto GP back in 2012, the world has wished to see the then 27 year old phenomena to race again in Moto GP.
However, every year Casey spends considerable time to diffuse rumours of his return to the premier class, rumours that pick up every time Casey takes a development Honda RCV Moto GP beast around a track for testing.
Sometime ago in one of such rumours it was mentioned that Casey might just race at the 8 hour Suzuka Endurance after he was found testing a Honda Fireblade that competes in the prestigious endurance race. He will ride a factory-backed Honda in the legendary race, joining World Superbike racer Michael van der Mark and Takumi Takahashi. “After riding the bike in Sepang a few months ago, I’ve been speaking closely with Honda about the possibility to take part in Suzuka,” Stoner said. “It’s always been an event I wanted to do and something I was never able to consider when I was racing in MotoGP, due to our busy schedules, so I’m really looking forward to taking part!
“The bike is very different to a MotoGP machine, but it will be a new challenge and a chance for me to try something new and unlike what I’ve been used to in my racing to this point. “I’ve been impressed with Michael van der Mark this season and Takumi Takahashi has a lot of experience on this machine, so I’m looking forward to hearing their comments and working together with them in preparation for the July race. “Now I need to concentrate on my training to be ready for the race.”
