CFMoto 250SR - The Fully-Faired Motorcycle Teased Ahead of India Launch

CFMoto - the Hangzhou based motorcycle manufacturer has released the official teaser video of its upcoming quarter-litre motorcycle - the 250SR. CFMoto 250SR is the fully-faired sibling of 250NK which is a quarter-litre naked motorcycle. The 250 SR will be launched in the Indian market by early 2020 as the brand is planning to launch its naked motorcycles series in the market by the late second quarter of 2019. All the bikes of CFMoto will be made available in India through Bengaluru-based AMW Motorcycles.

Speaking of the mechanicals, the CFMoto 250SR will be powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 249.2 cc DOHC motor. The same motor also powers the 250NK and it is expected to churn out 25 bhp of max power at 9,000 rpm and 22 Nm of max torque at 7,500 rpm. The motor on the CFMoto 250SR will be in a different state of tune to suit its supersport character. The power is delivered to the motorcycle through a 6-speed gearbox. The motor will sit in a trellis frame.


The CFMoto 250SR has all-LED lightings with a twin headlamp unit and tail light is fitted in the sharp and pointed tail. The bike's suspension duties are carried by a monshock at the rear and gold anodized USD forks at the front. Braking department gets Brembo disc brakes on both the wheels and it is expected to be equipped with a dual-channel ABS unit as well. The teaser video also showcases a digital instrument screen. One thing to be noted here is that the bike in the teaser video features a number of race-spec equipment like an upswept Akrapovic exhaust muffler, a rear cowl instead of the pillion seat, race-spec rubber and graphics on the side-fairings.

The road-legal model might get rid of these and feature a twin and stepped seats and road-based tyres. The brand can launch the race graphics edition of the 250SR later. Once launched, CFMoto 250SR will be up against the likes of KTM RC200, Honda CBR250R and the soon to be launched Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. CFMoto will put a competitive price tag on the  250SR which will under the Rs 2 lakh mark.
