Hyundai recently launched the automatic version of the petrol Grand i10 and now rumour has it that the manufacturer is planning to roll out the automatic version of the Diesel Grand i10 by the 5th of next month. The new A/T diesel Grand i10 may come dressed in the top two trim levels of Sportz and Asta. No word on pricing yet but expect the car to cost in between 6-7 lakhs ex-showroom. With such pricing, the A/T diesel Grand i10 will be the cheapest diesel automatic in India!
The A/T diesel Grand i10 will be powered by the same 3 cylinder 1.1-litre CRDi engine that churns out 71PS of power and 160Nm of torque mated to the familiar 4-speed A/T transmission (also seen on the petrol A/T versions of the Grand i10). We expect the A/T diesel to post fuel efficiency figures of atleast 21 kmpl, marginally below its petrol cousin. This also makes it the most fuel efficient A/T diesel in India.
Hyundai launched the Grand i10 in the Indian market in September and instantly it became the best-seller from the Hyundai stable. The car comes loaded with features some of which are first in the segment. One of highlights of the Grand i10 is the 1GB memory it comes with, which can be used to store music. The Grand i10 or the Grand, as it is popularly known, looks brilliant and with the special diamond cut alloy wheels the Grand surely takes some attention on the road.
If the Korean giant launches the car with the rumoured price tag, it will capture most of the automatic market share. As of now, the cheapest diesel in the market is also from the Verna, which is also from the Hyundai stable. The Verna diesel automatic carries a price tag of around 10 lakh, which is much higher than the expected price of the Grand i10 diesel automatic. We hope that Hyundai does come with such a car that will make the female drivers much happier and peppier on the road. Keep checking the space for more updates.
