The German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has uncovered the CLA 250 Sports and the CLA 45 AMG racing series through its official Facebook fan page. Both these cars are scheduled to make their first physical appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The CLA 45 AMG will be Mercs first ever entry-level racer to Merc’s consumer Motorsport market, the car has completely been stripped-off of unwanted elements with respect to race automobiles. Many changes are also made to the body to make it more aerodynamic, and in the future are expected to get numerous changes to materials ‘under the hood’.
The CLA 250 Sports is predicted to be the newest variant of the CLA series, this car is more likely to get many parts of power and features from the Merc A 250 Sport hatchback. It has been said that the CLA 250 will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, with 208 BHP and 350 NM of Torque. A 7G-DCT dual-clutch gearbox transmits the power to the front wheels of the car. Apart from these two vehicles, Merc will also display the production version of the compact crossover GLA, S63 AMG and the S-Class Coupe concept at the Show.
Ola Kallenius, the CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH quoted that, the CLA 45 AMG racing series exhibits the brand’s desire to further enhance the obligation to customer Motorsport. The company is also seeking to put forward interested customer teams a near-standard, competitive racing car with a tremendous level of safety in the whole 4 cylinder category. The SLS AMG GT3 which witnessed success, is now being raced by Merc consumers in 5 different continents, this is one of the things that give the company confidence. He concluded by saying, the GT3 has also won many races and has saved up numerous titles, which includes the FIA GT3 European Championship 2012, the 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship, the ADAC GT Masters 2012 and many more.
