Chevrolet has showcased the Beat Activ crossover at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show in its production avatar. The all-new cross had its world premiere at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. It was also announced that it would go on sale from the first quarter of 2017, while priced at $16,945 (Around Rs. 11.55 Lakhs) and $18,045 (Around Rs. 12.30 Lakhs) for the manual and CVT variants, respectively. Though, the India-spec Chevrolet Beat Activ is expected to be priced in a range of Rs. 6-8 Lakhs due to extreme localization.
“The new Spark ACTIV is all about adventurous fun and style. It has an attitude, while still offering the sophisticated, efficient and connected driving experience customers have come to love,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet director of Car and Crossover Marketing. The cross would flaunt specific grille pattern with ACTIV nameplate and off-road skidplates, while riding on new 15-inch alloy wheels and boasting of a revised suspension, which has raised the ground clearance by 10mm. The fog lamp housings would be integrated in the front fascia with round shaped lamps at the helm. Roof-rails and body cladding would be offered as standard equipments. Inside the cabin, there would be black heated leatherette front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard feature.
As for other features, the Beat Activ would come with 7-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Rear-vision camera system, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar Guidance Plan, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Air conditioning, Cruise control, Remote keyless entry, Steering wheel controls for phone and audio system, and Power windows with Express Up/Down. It is still not known that how many of the aforementioned features would make their way in the India-spec model but we expect at least a few of them. Mechanically, the Indian version of Beat Activ would be offered with the same engines as the new-gen Beat and Beat Essentia sedan in both petrol and diesel fuel trims.
