Chevrolet has finally unveiled the production-spec of the next-generation Trailblazer SUV in Brazil. Though the concept version of the SUV Trailblazer Premier Study was showcased at the Bangkok Motor Show in March 2016. The Brazilian-spec version received some cosmetic updates both from the exterior as well as interior. The SUV launched in India in October 2015 and was imported into India as a CKD unit.
Speaking of the exterior design of the 2016 Chevrolet trailblazer, it gets a redesigned front fascia and apart from that it is quite similar to the existing model. The front now appears more muscular with new wider grille, massive bumper with integrated skid plates, bigger fog lamps and new headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Dimensionally, it measures in at 4,800 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 2,850 mm tall.
Inside, the cabin of the SUV gets an all new dashboard and in order to give it a more upscale touch, the interior has been designed with more premium material. It features updated instrument cluster, an 8 inch MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, chrome garnished central HVAC vents. In terms of safety, it gets collision warning, blind spot warning, lane-change assist, front parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring and reverse camera with cross-traffic alert.
And the Interesting part is under the hood, the next-generation will be powered by the same powertrain as seen on the current model, a 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine that cranks out 200bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. In the international market, it will also be offered in the 2.5-litre diesel engine option. Both the engine will be paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
