Today we reported that Chevrolet is preparing to launch the facelift of Cruze in China and now the news has come that the company has quietly launched an updated version of the Cruze here. Chevrolet had given a minor facelift to the Cruze in September last year and this new version has been the second update to the model within the last one year. However, the model doesn't get any cosmetic changes apart from turn-indicators equipped ORVMs which now come as an standard fitment to all the variants.
Although, the new Cruze does not boasts any major visual changes, but the company clams that it has now improved the fuel efficiency of the its automatic transmission (AT) variant to 14.81 kmpl, while the 6-speed manual transmission equipped version now churns out 17.3 kmpl. The Cruze is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, VCDi engine that delivers peak power of 166 PS at 3800 RPM and 380 Nm of torque at 2000 RPM.
The company has been offering the model in three variants- LT, LTZ and LTZ AT in India and all are loaded with features like all four power windows, audio system with multi-functional steering wheel, two airbags and several other basic comfort and safety features. The price range of Cruze starts from Rs. 13,70,416/- for the basic variant while the top-end AT variant comes with a sticker price of Rs. 16,19,826/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
