Earlier there were some speculations, whether Chevy's Trax would make its way to India or not, however, quashing all that reports of Trax’s possibilities in the country, Autocar has revealed that the new compact SUV will be named as ‘Adra’.
Based on the General Motors’ global small-vehicle platform 'Gamma 2', the concept version of the Adra will be showcased at the upcoming Auto-Expo next month.
According to the report, Adra will be powered by the same 1.3-litres multi-jet diesel engine that already powers the Sail series from the company. The mill outputs a max powerv of 77 bhp and peak torque of 205 nm. Though the petrol engine details are still unknown, we expect it to be the same 1.2-litres motor.
Chevrolet will sell Adra in many developing countries across the globe. However, the Brazil and India would be the main markets for the crossover. After its arrival in the country, Adra will compete with the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra and Hyundai’s upcoming vehicles in the same arena.
Chevrolet Adra will be showcased among other products from the GM stable such as a special edition facelifted Beat, a special edition of the hatchback in the Manchester United colors livery, the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the all-new Corvette C7 Stingray and the Chevrolet Camaro.
