- Haima has reportedly joined hands with Bird Electric in India.
We have been hearing that a lot of Chinese automakers have been trying to enter the Indian market soon. MG Motor, owned by the China-based SAIC Motor, was the first one to foray into the Indian market in mid-2019, while two more names from China in form of Great Wall Motors and Haima Automobile are making the rounds.
As per a report from Autocar India, both of the aforementioned will indeed enter India at Auto Expo 2020.
The spokesperson for Haima reportedly told to Autocar India that Haima Automobile Group, a 30 years old China-based passenger car manufacturer, will certainly enter the Indian market. The company is currently in the process of zeroing down its plans while in touch with the state and the central government in India.
The Chinese OEM has also hired agencies to conduct in-depth market surveys in India as it is also in talks with several component suppliers. The talks have also started regarding the dealerships and marketing strategy.
It is being learned that Haima has associated with Bird Electric in India, which is a subsidiary of Bird Group. For those asking, Bird Automotive is a well-known dealership chain of BMW and Mini brands in India. Although, Haima had been extremely tightlipped regarding these developments one thing is sure that collaboration with Bird Electric means that Haima will showcase an exquisite range of electric vehicles at the 2020 Auto Expo in February.
The company's portfolio of all-electric vehicles includes Aishang 360 hatchback, E3 midsize sedan, E5 SUV and E7 MPV.
