PSA is attempting to bring its very stylish and appealing Citroen C5 Aircross SUV in the Indian market in 2019. As it appears, the French automobile giant is taking a top-down order to introduce its product lineup in India and the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV will be the first to hit the market. The company will bring the mass market models by 2021.
PSA Group’s Citroen coming to India
The Citroen C5 Aircross will be sold here as CKD unit and the Citroen C84 too is on the card for Indian market. The automaker is planning to locally assemble these models in its Chennai facility in order to keep the pricing competitive. However, the move is yet to receive the final approval from the company. Speaking about the Citroen C5 Aircross, it will lock horns with rivals like Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and upcoming Skoda Karoq as well.

While the mass market segment remains in the target of every automaker that aims to start a business here in India, a couple of global auto giants like Volkswagen, Skoda and Renault took the top-down order. Now, PSA Group is also aiming to follow the same path.
Apart from the above-mentioned SUVs, PSA is also emphasizing on localized products for the Indian buyers. The automaker is planning to launch some compact SUVs and sedans that will hit the market sometime by the first half of the next decade. However, the brand is yet to reveal any further detail about those cars.
