We earlier reported you that Ford India is ready to launch the new Figo hatchback on September 23, 2015 in the country. But, prior to the official launch, an image that showcases the hatch's interior cabin has emereged on the web. The interior cabin looks quite identical to the Figo Aspire compact sedan, which was launched last month in India. The bookings for the new Ford Figo are already in full swing at all the company authorized dealerships nationwide.
Talking about the interior cabin, first things first, it resembles a lot to the Figo Aspire. Though, the color scheme is not the same as several elements like dashboard, steering wheel, door panels and centre console are finished in all-black, unlike Aspire's dual-tone beige and black color. The seats are also all-black, while the pillars are done in grey. The company designers, in a bid to distinguish it from Aspire sedan, have offered silver inserts around the infotainment system and central air-conditioner vents. In fact, the doors, steering wheel and gear-lever also feature silver inserts. However, the A/C vents lying at the extreme ends of the dashboard boast of chrome bezels. The instrument cluster and switchgear have been sourced from the Figo Aspire, while dual front airbags are expected to be offered as standard safety features.
Mechanically, new Ford Figo would be introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants would be powered by the 1.2L Ti-VCT engine, while the diesel variants would get the 1.5L TDCi mill. Both these engines would be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is still not clear that whether the new Figo would be presented with the 1.5L petrol motor and 6-speed PowerShift automatic gearbox, like the Aspire sedan. 2015 Ford Figo is expected to attract an introductory price of Rs. 4 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Just so you know, Ford Figo facelift would fair against the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Chevrolet Beat, Toyota Etios Liva and Maruti Celerio.
