It was but obvious that as we are reaching towards the launch of the hugely anticipated and talked about TVS Apache 200 on January 20th, news related to it would be thick and coming. In the latest set of spy shots that has arrived we get the clearest yet glimpse of the entire motorcycle before the launch. The pictures have been shared by Mr. Kannan T Mani with Autocar India and are from bikes testing in Tamil Nadu.
As per the pictures the Apache 200 seems to have the rear panel and the tank panel design inspired from the stunning X21 Draken concept from the 2014 Auto Expo. while the headlamp seems to be a much rounder design than have seen on any of the Apache's till now. Designed to rival the KTM Duke 200 in its performance numbers and undercut it significantly in pricing, these pictures show a motorcycle that looks beefy and sporty at the same time, something that we reckon will captivate a lot of riders towards the latest and the biggest Apache till date.
The wheels are all black 10 spoke alloys that should either be wearing a Pirelli or a TVS tyre as per the market the bike will be sold in. The exhaust design is interesting with the exhaust can ending with dual outlets, this being an Apache expect it to sound as sweet if not better than the current Apache's lustrous exhaust note. This time around too, the clip on handlebars raise the sporty intent of the motorcycle's design and so does the all digital instrument console which is white backlit.
To be powered by a 200 cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-and-air-cooled engine with rumoured power outputs of 28Ps and 20Nm of torque, with a 5-speed gearbox. While it is for sure going to have petal-type disc brakes at both ends while ABS will reportedly be available as optional only. Also, the headlight assembly will feature a pretty good looking set of LED DRL's.
